Me thinking about kindness XD

From the start of the time when we are kids our parents, teachers, etc. tell us about basic traits which make us a good human being. Now I for a fact know that kindness is one of the most prominent traits we are told about being a kid. At the time I was not able to comprehend the thought process behind that teaching of being kind but as I grew up or the years the concept became more than clear in every way. It is proven that the things which we are told as kids only become more clear as we grow up and are put in situations where we can test those teachings. However, in my household, it has always been great teaching which is of being kind. Now I have been kind my whole life to every one of my peers and at my home and it has at times put me at a disadvantage in different situations but the perception to create of yourself in a person's mind is the reward you get. Some people who are pessimists might not be able to see your kindness but people eventually figure out what you truly are.

Let me tell you this before I joined Amal Academy I had no idea that this simple concept of kindness I have known about all this time can be applied in order to be a “Most valuable team play”. But as I proceeded with the course I have come to know that this is one of the most important traits a leader or a team member should possess if he/she aims to successfully lead the team/ be a relevant part of the team.

Today I would like to show you guys the five random acts of kindness that I have done over a period of 24 hours.

  1. Offering to do chores that my sister had to do.

My sister has recently cleared her matriculation exams and now is an inter part 1 medical student. Her goals are big and she wants to prepare for the best medical college in Pakistan and she is way more concerned about it even before the start of inter part 2 and that's a good thing. Now she has too much on her plate every day and I think it's ok to sometimes give her a break and just help her to in these little ways.

What another way to spend your holiday than doing common chores :(

2. Turned off my phone to engage in a conversation with my family

Smartphone has literally become a very dominant part of or life. It takes up most of our time and hence leaves a very small window for real conversations with our family. So today, I decided to put my phone down and have hours and hours of long constructive conversations with my family.

My boy likes Fortnite and doesn't stop talking about it XD

3. Offered someone a spot in line for grocery billing.

Grocery shopping is fun with your family but the most problematic and hectic part of this thing is the billing at the end which is mostly due to long lines and slow cashiers which just frustrates me the most. However, after being in the line for about an hour my turn was up next but a person comes out of nowhere with a decent bunch of items to pay for and he seems in a hurry so I decided to offer him to get the billing done first. It may seem a small thing to many but believe me, the feeling is 100% genuine and heartwarming.

Couldn't click the actual picture but here is an analogy

4. Offered one of my favorite books to a close friend

I’m decently fond of reading self-building books which help grow my skill especially. I had this book called ‘ From zero to one’ by Peter Theil which I liked very much and wanted someone to talk to about it. A friend of mine is equally fond of these kinds of books and he wanted this book so bad and didn't have the time to visit a book shop in order to buy its book. So I decided to be a good selfless friend and offered him this book. P.S: He loved it.

He is going to pick it up today :)

5. Ate a pack of biscuits and placed the empty wrapper in my pocket

One of the most problematic things in Pakistan is the pollution which is done by the people living here obviously. People don't care while they litter the environment. Now I bought a packet of biscuits and after finishing it couldn't find any trash bin near the place I was at. So I decided to not litter the place for my own convenience and placed the wrapper in my pocket and brought it home and then threw it in my trash bin.

Creating what I did again :)

After doing these 5 random acts of kindness I got a very warm feeling in my heart that we can actually help people in our lives without giving virtually anything. It only takes your selfless self to become prominent and provide kindness to those who need it dearly. I now think that kindness is a very important part of teamwork and without kindness, the spirit of teamwork cannot be kindled in the hearts of all the team members.

“Be kind, for whenever kindness becomes part of something, it beautifies it. Whenever it is taken from something, it leaves it tarnished.” Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
